Over the years, my friends would text me the same thing:
“Can you help me pick a sconce for my bathroom?”
And I always wanted to say yes.
But a sconce is never just a sconce.
It’s the color temperature — does it match the pot lights, or will the room feel like a UFO landed in it?
It’s the scale — is it proportional to the mirror and vanity?
It’s the height — will it cast shadows under your eyes when you’re putting on makeup?
It’s the direction of light — does it actually function, or just look pretty?
One simple question always snowballed into twenty more.
And that’s the part most homeowners don’t see when they start a bathroom or kitchen renovation.
Design decisions are layered. And when you’re planning a renovation, those layers compound quickly.
I loved helping my friends. But I also knew that giving a thoughtful answer wasn’t a quick text back. It deserved time. It deserved intention.
I didn’t want to invoice my friends.
But I also didn’t want to give half-answers.
So I built something better.

Why Renovation Decisions Snowball
Whether you’re planning a bathroom renovation or a kitchen renovation, no decision lives in isolation.
Choosing bathroom tile affects:
• Slip resistance
• Grout color
• Undertones
• Transition strips
• Paint color
• Lighting reflection
Choosing kitchen lighting affects:
• Color temperature
• Task visibility
• Shadowing on prep surfaces
• Appliance finish coordination
• Overall mood of the space
This is why so many homeowners feel overwhelmed.
It’s not that you can’t choose a finish.
It’s that you don’t know what that finish impacts next.
And when you’re renovating without a clear plan, that uncertainty often leads to:
• Delayed decisions
• Budget creep
• Or renovation regret
Which is exactly what I try to prevent.

How to Plan a Bathroom or Kitchen Renovation Properly
If I were giving you the same advice I give my closest friends, it would be this:
Plan earlier than you think you need to.
Build a realistic budget before you fall in love with finishes.
Decide whether you are keeping your layout or changing it.
Because that one decision determines everything.
If you’re renovating a bathroom and keeping the layout exactly the same — no plumbing moves, no structural changes — you may not need a fully custom design package.
If you’re renovating a kitchen and refreshing finishes without moving walls, that’s a different scope than a full layout reconfiguration.
Understanding your scope first is what protects your budget and your timeline.

Those tools teach you the sequence.
But for many of my friends, they needed something more visual.
Why I Created Downloadable Bathroom & Kitchen Design Packages
At first, I created these quietly — for my friends.
Friends who valued thoughtful design.
Friends who didn’t have the time or budget to sit down and go through every single selection with me one-on-one.
Friends who wanted their space to feel cohesive — but didn’t want to guess.
They needed:
Clarity.
Visualization.
Connection between decisions.
So I created downloadable Bathroom Design Packages and Kitchen Design Packages.
These are fully pre-specified, rendered renovation plans built around real layouts.
They include:
• Cohesive material selections
• Lighting placement guidance
• Exact fixture recommendations
• Hardware coordination
• Transition details
• Budget-conscious options
• Video walkthroughs explaining the “why” behind every decision
They are designed to help you visualize your renovation before construction begins — whether you have a three-piece bathroom, a four-piece bathroom, or a standard U-shaped kitchen layout.
And they’re intentionally built with real budgets in mind.
Not $1,500 light fixtures pulled from luxury custom builds.
Realistic selections.
Thoughtfully layered.
Contractor-ready.

When You Actually Need Full-Service Interior Design
There is a clear difference between a downloadable design package and full-service design.
If you are:
• Changing your layout
• Moving plumbing
• Relocating walls
• Requiring a building permit package
• Custom designing millwork
• Or needing a full construction drawing package
You need full-service design.
Full-service includes:
• Custom layouts designed specifically for your space
• Construction drawings (demo plan, lighting plan, electrical plan, switching plan, elevations)
• Plumbing fixture heights
• Outlet locations
• Custom millwork drawings
• Detailed cabinetry elevations
• Contractor handoff and coordination
• Collaborative meetings to design a space unique to you
Specifications are only one part of a renovation.
Custom layout design and construction documentation are what allow your contractor to provide accurate trade quotes before demolition begins.
And I strongly believe in getting real quotes before you open walls.

You Don’t Have to Choose Between all on your own or Full Service
I didn’t create downloadable design packages as a downsell.
I created them as access.
Access to thoughtful design.
Access to layered decision-making.
Access to someone connecting the details you might not even know to think about.
You can absolutely work with me one-on-one.
But if the timing or budget for full service isn’t right, that doesn’t mean you’re on your own.
That’s exactly why I created my design guides.
They’re a middle ground.
A way to move forward with a clear plan and a cohesive vision, without having to guess your way through every decision.
You can still create a thoughtful, intentional space.
You can still avoid renovation regret.
And whether you hire me for full service or use a design guide…
You’re not guessing.
You’re guided.
