This kitchen and bathroom renovation in Surrey, BC was designed for a busy, growing family who needed a space that felt open, functional, and easy to live in every day. By relocating the kitchen to create a true open-concept layout, we improved flow between the kitchen, dining, and living areas so cooking, entertaining, and family time could all happen at once. The island was intentionally designed as a homework zone and gathering space, giving the kids a place to settle in while meals are prepared. To highlight the home’s sloped ceiling, we leaned into vertical lines with fluted detailing on the hood fan and island, subtly drawing your eye upward and celebrating the existing architecture. With ample storage and a nearby pantry, we kept the backsplash clean and open, helping the space feel calm and uncluttered.
In the bathroom, we completely reconfigured the layout to better support both daily routines and long-term living. The focus was on creating a space that works for young children now while also planning for the future, with a walk-in shower designed for ease of use and aging in place over time.
