This custom home in Surrey, BC was designed to reflect a family’s bold personal style while creating a space that feels connected, functional, and easy to live in day to day. The homeowners were drawn to a mix of industrial elements and warmer finishes, which guided the overall design approach throughout the home. In the kitchen, a custom arched brick feature was designed to frame the hood fan as a focal point, while surrounding cabinetry was intentionally kept lower to allow the architectural skylights above to take center stage. A mix of walnut and soft cream cabinetry brings balance to the space, creating a kitchen that feels both grounded and inviting.
Just off the kitchen, a dedicated study room was designed as an industrial-inspired gathering space, with a long communal table and library-style storage that allows the kids to work side by side while staying connected to the main living areas. Spanning over 10,000 square feet, the home includes multiple custom bathrooms and layered bedroom detailing, all thoughtfully designed to reflect the family’s lifestyle and priorities. Each material and finish was carefully selected to balance character, durability, and budget, resulting in a custom home design that feels cohesive, expressive, and built for everyday living.
