On March 28th, 2025, the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) British Columbia Chapter hosted its annual Western Canada Design Excellence Awards (DEA) at the Grand Villa Casino Hotel & Conference Centre. This prestigious event celebrates outstanding residential design across Western Canada, spotlighting innovation, craftsmanship, and creativity in kitchen and bath design.
It was a fun-filled night celebrating so many talented designers, sharing inspiration, and recognizing incredible work across the industry. The evening ended with a lively dance party—because what’s an awards night without a little fun? We’re already looking forward to next year!
This year, over 300 talented designers entered their work across a variety of categories. We are honoured to share that Align Interior Design was recognized in the following categories:
1st Place – Best Contemporary Small Kitchen
Our project, Urban Oasis, was awarded First Place in this competitive category.
Designing a small kitchen that feels spacious, functional, and beautiful is no small feat, but our approach focused on maximizing function and flow within a compact footprint. This kitchen blends clean lines, clever storage solutions, and warm modern finishes. The result? A stylish, calming, and highly efficient space that truly reflects the homeowner’s lifestyle– personal and luxurious.
Finalist – Best Contemporary Medium Bathroom
Our Serene Retreat bathroom was recognized as a Finalist for its refined, spa-like aesthetic. Featuring natural materials, ambient lighting, and a well-balanced layout, this design offers a sense of calm and elegance to everyday routines.
Finalist – NKBA Western Canada’s Designer of the Year
We are beyond honored to have been selected as a Finalist for this prestigious award. Being recognized among Western Canada’s top designers is a testament to our commitment to creating thoughtful, forward-thinking designs that enhance our clients’ everyday lives.
These acknowledgements wouldn’t be possible without the incredible collaborative spirit we share with our clients and trades.
